Jude Law got married in a surprise London town hall wedding

Congratulations are in order for actor Jude Law, who wed girlfriend Phillipa Coan in a surprise ceremony at The Old Marylebone Town Hall in London, England on April 30. Only close friends and family members were invited to the intimate event, and the newlyweds were captured on camera emerging from the town hall sporting wedding bands. The bride wore a chic, cream-colored ruffled frock, while Law donned a navy blue corduroy suit for the occasion.

The couple has been dating for four years. Fans began to speculate they were engaged when Coan was spotted wearing a diamond ring in February.

While the “Captain Marvel” star has been a staple in Hollywood for years, his new psychologist wife leads a life outside of the limelight. When asked if there was one person he’d give spoilers about that movie to, he listed Coan — sort of.

“I would tell my partner, but she doesn’t know what I’m talking about,” Law told Extra in February. “She’s never seen a Marvel movie. She’s a doctor.”

Coan, 32, is the founder of STRIDE, which helps companies with employee engagement and behavior change. But the fact that his wife is not in show business is reportedly just fine by the 46-year-old “The Young Pope” star.

“Jude fell head over heels for Phillipa because she isn’t just a pretty face. She also has brains and her own successful career as a psychologist,” a source close to the couple told Closer Weekly. “He finds it refreshing to be with someone who isn’t in the entertainment industry or looking for a meal ticket. Phillipa doesn’t care about fame. She loves Jude for who he is, and is fun and fits in with all his cool London friends.”

This is Law’s second marriage. Law was previously engaged to actress Sienna Miller. He was married to actress Sadie Frost from 1997 to 2003, and they have three children together: daughter Iris, 18, and sons Rafferty, 22, and Rudy, 16. He later had another daughter, Sophia, now 9, with model Samantha Burke in 2008. He also shares 4-year-old daughter Ada with ex Catherine Harding.
