If there’s anyone you should trust when it comes to food, it’s Julia Child. The chef became famous for bringing French recipes into American culture via her lively TV shows and cookbooks.

In other words, she basically changed the world of home cooking for the better, one recipe at a time.

And she’s got a recipe for vinaigrette that will make your salad-eating so much better. Once you try out this homemade dressing for yourself, you may not purchase a bottle of dressing ever again.

The process of making the vinaigrette is simple and features only a handful of ingredients. You’ll just need a shallot, wine vinegar, olive oil, dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt and pepper to take your salads to the next level.

Simply combine all of the ingredients except the shallot in a blender or food processor, or throw everything into a jar and shake to combine.

This is our favorite option because then you can just place the jar in the fridge and enjoy it anytime your meal calls for a tasty dressing!

This recipe is sure to bring some delicious flavor to your leafy greens.

Find the full recipe at The News & Observer, though the recipe originally comes from Child’s cookbook, “Julia’s Kitchen Wisdom: Essential Techniques and Recipes from a Lifetime of Cooking.
