Julia Stiles Secretly Got Married Earlier This Month

Actress Julia Stiles has a lot to celebrate lately! In June, the star of the British series “Riviera” announced that she and her actor/cameraman fiance Preston J. Cook were expecting their first child together. A few months later, the glowing mom-to-be gave fans a first glimpse of her baby bump. Stiles and Cook have been engaged since late 2015, and on Tuesday the star posted on Instagram to let the world know that they tied the knot in a small and intimate ceremony.

“They got married Labor Day weekend with two friends on the beach in Seattle,” Stiles’ rep confirmed to People in a statement.

Under a sweet photo of her new husband’s hands resting on her baby bump, Stiles wrote, “Who doesn’t love a shotgun wedding? 😉✨”

Her white lace dress is reportedly by Tiffany Rose Maternity, and her jewelry is from Vancouver-based Reason + Madness, according to W magazine.

The impromptu wedding came as somewhat of a surprise to many, as Stiles had told People last year, “We’re really slow on the wedding planning so I haven’t really been soliciting advice.”

The actress’ Instagram followers were thrilled by the good news.

“Congrats, so happy for you. And just for the record shotgun weddings are the best,” read one comment.

“Congrats to you and your hubby on getting married and becoming parents,” said another.

Stiles is no doubt herself overjoyed, having previously gushed over her excitement at the prospect of a proposal. “We went on a big trip with his entire family over Christmas and New Year’s, so I kept saying to myself out loud, like every day, ‘Do not ruin a perfectly good vacation by getting your hopes up. Just get it out of your head,'” she told TODAY.

The newlyweds’ bundle of joy should be here any day now, as Stiles posted another bump-baring photo, noting that she was “nearly eight months pregnant” back in August.
