Julia Stiles welcomes baby with husband Preston J. Cook

Actress Julia Stiles is a mom!

In an Instagram post shared on Nov. 21, Stiles announced the news that her first child, Strummer Newcomb Cook, was born Oct. 20 in New York City.

Stiles shared a sweet photo of her baby’s tiny hand with a caption announcing the child’s birth and thanking the staff at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York:

“Strummer Newcomb Cook, born October 20, 2017. Thanks and ever thanks to the extraordinary Doctors, Nurses and staff at Mount Sinai for helping bring this utter joy into our lives. ‘Hello, World!'”

Stiles and husband, Preston J. Cook, were married in September, and the “10 Things I Hate About You” and “Bourne Identity” actress documented the event on Instagram with a caption that read: “Who doesn’t love a shotgun wedding?”

Cook and Stiles were engaged at the end of 2015 after meeting on the set of “Go With Me.”

She talked to TODAY in June 2017 about how she knew she was meant to marry Cook, a camera assistant.

“He’s just a really good man,” she said. “It’s a gut feeling, I guess. But the more we spend time together, the more that’s confirmed. He’s just really caring and attentive, and a solid dude.”

Sounds like dad material right there.
