‘Jurassic World 3’ already has a release date

The second “Jurassic World” movie hasn’t even hit theaters yet and already we have a release date for the third one!

Colin Trevorrow directed and co-wrote 2015’s massive hit “Jurassic World” and came back as a producer for the sequel, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” which is slated to premiere on June 22. The 41-year-old filmmaker says he always knew there would be three movies in the franchise.

The as-yet-unnamed third film is set to premiere on June 11, 2021, according to a tweet from Trevorrow.

“I remember telling [executive producer] Steven [Spielberg] even while we were making the first movie, ‘This is the beginning. Here is the middle. And here’s the end of the end. This is where we want to go,’” Trevorrow said in a 2017 interview available on YouTube. “I feel like that kind of design is crucial to a franchise like this if you really want to bring people along with you and make sure they stay interested.”

Trevorrow is expected to be an executive producer and co-writer on the third film. The next two installments have a lot to live up to, as the first “Jurassic World” broke box office records and was met with solid reviews.

“Fallen Kingdom” will reportedly strike a different tone than the first installment. “It will be darker and scarier than the previous film. Obviously, when you have Chris Pratt it will also be very funny. But it will be darker,” director J.A. Bayona told the Spanish-language media outlet Agencia EFE. “It is the second step in a trilogy, and the second step is always dark as in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ or ‘The Wrath of Khan,’ which are the examples you always get. The film takes the story where it has never been before.”

Check out the trailer for “Fallen Kingdom” below.

The highly anticipated sequel brings back the stars of “Jurassic World,” including Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Details on plot and casting for the third film are being kept under wraps for now.

I can’t wait to see who’s going to survive and who will become a dinosaur snack!
