Kat Von D is expecting her first child

You may know the name Kat Von D from the incredible line of beauty products she created.

But before she was a beauty mogul, she was a tattoo artist, musician and TV personality on the reality show “LA Ink.”

She’s held a lot of roles in her day — and now she’s about to add another title to her list: mom.

Von D announced on Instagram on May 8 that she is expecting her first child with her musician husband, Rafael Reyes, who goes by the stage name of Leafar Seyer.

The social media post was full of surprises. Not only did the beauty maven announce she was pregnant, but she also announced the sex of the baby — and her husband may have even dropped the name.

According to the post, the couple, who married in February, is expecting a baby boy:

The Instagram photo they shared showcases Von D cradling her baby bump alongside her husband. She captioned the photo simply:

“It’s a boy,” she wrote with a black heart emoji.

Reyes posted the same image and gushed about how excited he is to be a father:

“When I thought I had it all. Life gifts me with the greatest of joys!,” he wrote. “We are pregnant and having a baby boy. I love you @thekatvond and I’m ready to be a father to our son Leafar. Thank you my love our family comes first!!!”

Based on his post, it seems as though the couple is planning to name their son after Reyes’ stage name (which also happens to be his first name, Rafael, spelled backwards).

Eyeliner That ‘Won’t Budge’

Kat Von D was in the news this month for another reason — her eyeliner is getting rave reviews from customers. And the reviews are certainly creative, too.

One woman wrote a hilarious review about how her Kat Von D eyeliner held up — even after she was in a car accident — and the review is going viral. Twitter user @guadalahari brought the review to the attention of the internet, and now people are more than prepared to purchase the eyeliner that just “doesn’t budge.”

Here’s the tweet that started it all. In the span of one week, the post was retweeted more than 230,000 times and racked up more than 600,000 likes and an endless stream of comments.

This review was about Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner, and when you read about everything it lasted through, you’ll want to run out and buy it, too!

The liner retails for $20, and comes in two shades: Trooper Black and Mad Max Brown, which are both shown on a range of skin tones in the photo below.

Here’s what a reviewer going by the name of bluntredhead wrote on the Kat Von D website:

“This product is truly amazing. June 28th I was pulled over in my car calling for roadside assistance when a distracted driver hit me going 55mph. I was taken via ambulance to the ER where I remained for 8 hours. My mascara was running down my face from crying and all other products had been wiped off in the transfer to the hospital. But not my tattoo eyeliner. I am posting a pick [sic] to show you, this product lasts and looks amazing through anything. Never buying any other liner again.”

She titled the review, “I was in a car accident and my eyeliner didn’t budge.”

And she even posted a photo of herself at the hospital as evidence. As you can see, her eyeliner, indeed, is intact and we must say, it looks pretty great!

She’s not alone, either. Other women were posting about similar experiences online.

Twitter user @_carlyyrose also shared a photo of herself after a car accident, showing that her Kat Von D eyeliner didn’t budge. “Can confirm this liner is unstoppable,” she wrote.

Someone else can attest that it holds up to bike incidents as well. Here’s a pic from Twitter user @MadeleineDunne, who was apparently wearing the same long-lasting eyeliner when she was hurt while riding a bike. As in the car accident photo, this woman’s eyeliner appears to have stayed perfectly in place.
