Katharine McPhee and David Foster Are Engaged
Former “American Idol” star Katharine McPhee is a bride-to-be! She and her rumored boyfriend, David Foster, became engaged while on vacation in Italy, according to McPhee’s social media posts.
She has denied and avoided rumors about her love life in the past — but she’s not keeping the news of her engagement quiet.
McPhee posted a tweet with a ring emoji and a gif of Ariana Grande saying, “And what about it?” as a way to announce the news. She’s going to be happily married — and she doesn’t care what anyone has to say about it!

McPhee even posted the engagement story to her Instagram. She texted a friend about the proposal, and then took a screenshot of their conversation to share with fans.
Apparently, Foster, a songwriter and composer, waited until the moment was just right and asked McPhee to marry him at the top of a mountain when the sky was filled with stars. Swoon!

McPhee also joked that the moment was a little scary because Foster could have easily pushed her off the cliff.
“Thankfully he didn’t push me off the cliff,” she wrote. “He said it was one or the other. And in the end he spared me,” she joked.
Foster also confirmed the news via Instagram, simply captioning a photo of the couple, “Yup!!”

This will be the second marriage for McPhee, who was formerly married to actor Nick Cokas, and it’s the fifth marriage for Foster. The two lovebirds first met in 2006 when Foster appeared as a mentor during McPhee’s season of “American Idol.”
McPhee has coyly avoided talking about her relationship in the past. “Here’s how I look at it: I’m not doing anything wrong, so whether people think it’s true or false … there’s nothing bad happening in my life, so people can just say whatever they want,” she told People magazine.
But despite dodging the dating rumors, McPhee and Foster made their relationship red-carpet official at the 2018 Met Gala.
She’s now happily engaged — with an emphasis on the word happily! Congratulations to the couple!
