Katie Holmes posts adorable photo of daughter Suri for her 12th birthday

It’s not terribly often that we get glimpses of Suri Cruise, the daughter Katie Holmes had with Tom Cruise, but a 12th birthday is a special occasion, after all.

To commemorate her daughter hitting that milestone, Holmes posted a sweet snap of the girl on Instagram.

The photo shows the birthday girl — who looks just like her mom, by the way — wearing a crown.

Holmes topped off the birthday wish with 12 emoji hearts as the caption.

She’s growing up so fast! What mom can’t relate?

Holmes seems to be well aware of just how precious the time she has to raise her daughter is — and how fleeting it is, too.

“Every day, kids get a little further away from you,” she told Town & Country magazine last year. “That’s a positive thing. They should be becoming more independent, but it’s heartbreaking.”

She added: “You want them to stay with you forever, but they’re these amazing beings, and you have to do everything you can to give them what they need — and then they’re going to go. And that’s going to be very, very sad for me.”

But for now the famous mom is just enjoying her 12-year-old girl looking cute on her birthday and relishing the simple moments. And we can’t blame her for that at all.

Holmes is reportedly dating actor and singer Jamie Foxx, though the couple has kept their relationship off the radar for the most part.

She’s also started dabbling in directing, in addition to acting. She directed and starred in the 2016 movie “All We Had,” a movie set during the 2008 financial crisis.

The resemblance between Suri and Katie is uncanny — Suri looks almost exactly like her mom did at this age.

The proof is undeniable, thanks to all of the sweet #TBT pictures Holmes shares on social media.

Suri also bears a resemblance to her mom at present (Holmes is 38 and looks fab!), but the similarities between the two at the same age is what’s really crazy.

Despite the fact that Holmes and Tom Cruise got divorced in 2012, it appears they’re doing everything they can to make Suri’s life normal.

“My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now,” Holmes told Town & Country. “It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood.”
