Katy Perry visited a little girl who was too sick to attend her concert

Grace Moores, an 8-year-old girl from Australia, is a huge Katy Perry fan. But Grace has a brain tumor and ended up requiring surgery a few weeks ago that left her unable to attend an upcoming concert in Adelaide, Australia. So Perry brought the concert to her instead. The pop star made the young girl’s day when she paid her a personal visit at her home.

Grace has been battling cancer all year and was devastated that she would not be able to go to the show, for which she had received tickets as a birthday present. Her big sister, Tiana Moores, was determined Grace have the opportunity to see Perry in person.

Tiana tweeted about her sister’s situation, and thanks to more than 23,000 re-tweets, the message reached the superstar. Perry showed up at the Moores’ home on July 31 in Banksia Park, Australia.

Here’s the tweet that started it all:

Alongside some photos of Grace, Tiana wrote, “RETWEET PLEASE! my baby sister is meant to attend @katyperry concert in Adelaide this year but was diagnosed with a 6cm brain tumor and has been battling all year, grace has love been Katy’s biggest fan [sic] since she was 3, please help us try and get in contact with @katyperry xx.”

Perry spent an hour with Grace, her four siblings and her parents. She even played three songs, chosen by Grace, with two of her band members. Grace chose three of the singer’s biggest hits: “Roar,” “Firework” and “Chained to the Rhythm.”

Grace’s family had kept Perry’s visit a secret, so the young girl was completely surprised when the star and her entourage showed up outside her house. The Moores were super-impressed with Perry, who posed for photos with the family, asked questions to get to know them and even took a peek into Grace’s bedroom.

“She really is about her fans,” Grace’s mom, Marie, told The Advertiser of how Perry interacted with her family. “Just the way she spoke to all of my kids, she’s really heartfelt and a really genuine, nice person, which is great to know isn’t it?”

Katy Perry just made a fan for life!
