Kelly Clarkson is doing a residency in Las Vegas—here are the details

Las Vegas isn’t just about gambling — it’s also about great live music. Some of the world’s biggest stars have had residencies in Sin City, and Kelly Clarkson is the latest to join the club.

The inaugural “American Idol” winner announced her “Invincible” residency during the “Kelly-oke” segment of her daytime talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” on Friday. After performing a medley of her hits with a troupe of showgirls (major clue right there), Clarkson said, “I have a major announcement to make today. I’ve scored my very own residency in Las Vegas.”

The “Behind These Hazel Eyes” singer also shared a clip of the big announcement on Instagram, captioning her post, “Viva Las Vegas, Y’all.”

“Kelly Clarkson: Invincible” debuts April 1, 2020 — Clarkson was quick to assure her audience that it was not an April Fools joke — at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. It will run through September and is set to include two decades of Clarkson’s smash hits during a “one-of-a-kind up-close music experience,” according to the press release.

“Not only am I going to get to perform, but I’m going to play all the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ slots, which is really my reason for going there,” Clarkson, 37, joked in her announcement.

She’s in good company: Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera started their residencies at the Zappos Theater earlier this year. And Shania Twain is gearing up to kick hers off on December 6.

Clarkson will play five dates in April, two in July, four in August and five in September. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Nov. 8 at 10 am PT, if you want to set a reminder.

There’s a presale for Citi cardmembers from Nov. 4-7, and everybody who joins Clarkson’s email list before Monday, Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. ET will get a unique pre-sale code for early ticket access. Caesars Entertainment’s rewards members, members of the Caesars loyalty program, and Live Nation and Ticketmaster customers will also be able to access a presale on Nov. 7.

Prices for the performances start at $59, but VIP experiences that include a stage-side bar and a limited number of meet-and-greets will be available too.

“I’ve always loved performing in Las Vegas and the high energy of the crowds there,” the Grammy Award winner said in a statement on the Planet Hollywood site. “So many of my musical idols have had, and still have, incredible residencies on The Strip, and I’m so excited to create my own!”

Clarkson, who is Mom to daughter River Rose Blackstock, 5, and son Remington Alexander Blackstock, 3, revealed recently that she’s much happier in her career than she was in the early days.

“The first three years of my career was me just paying for winning a talent show,” she told USA Today.

It was joining another TV talent show, NBC’s “The Voice,” that allowed Clarkson to heal some of the negativity she was holding on to.

“I was just looking for anyone to talk to who knew what I was going through,” she said. “And that’s why I like to do that for artists on ‘The Voice.’ It’s actually healed that bitterness I used to carry, being able to be that for somebody else.”

Her star keeps rising! And we can’t wait to watch her bring it to Las Vegas next year.
