Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire perform duet of ‘Does He Love You’
Reba McEntire was the host of the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards, and the night was full of incredible performances — but perhaps none were as epic as the one where Kelly Clarkson and McEntire came together to sing the country icon’s 1993 hit “Does He Love You.”
This wasn’t the first time these powerhouse singers have performed together, either. In fact, they toured together in 2008, and had a hit duet version of Clarkson’s “Because of You.” But, seeing these two on stage together never gets old.
You can hear some of Sunday night’s performance below.
Loving this flashback! “Does He Love You”. They’re friends, family and now duet partners. The iconic @Reba with @kelly_clarkson. Pure perfection. #ACMAwards #WestwoodOne pic.twitter.com/rRxon8wyG2

Now, see how that compares to the time the pair performed “Does He Love You” at an “American Idol” concert special way back in 2002 — a performance Clarkson later told People magazine she “sucked” during:
Despite the fact that they’ve performed together many times before, McEntire has told People magazine that she’s still blown away by Clarkson’s voice every time she sings.
“Getting back on stage with her is going to be a blast because she sings her butt off and she’s cute as a button,” McEntire told the publication ahead of their latest duet. “When she opens her mouth to sing, it’s just like, ‘What is she gonna do next?’ She’s got this range, and I’m in awe every time she sings.”
The two singers have developed quite a bond that goes way beyond professional admiration. Along the way, they’ve become good friends — and even family members!
McEntire is actually the former stepmom of Clarkson’s husband, Brandon Blackstock. Blackstock’s father, Narvel Blackstock, was married to McEntire for 26 years, from 1989 until 2015.
So, McEntire and Clarkson are literally, and figuratively, family! These talented women also obviously share an enormous amount of respect for each other, which makes their performances all the more special.
