Watch how Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ appearance turned into a hilarious date night with her husband

When you’re a busy working mom, you know it can be tough to squeeze in time for date night. Kelly Clarkson solved that problem when she recently appeared on the popular “Carpool Karaoke” segment on the “The Late Late Show.”

After Clarkson rocks out to some of her biggest hits with host James Corden, he remarks on Clarkson’s unique relationship with her husband, Brandon Blackstock, who also happens to be her manager. He asks her if she and Blackstock get to spend a lot of time together outside of work. Clarkson admits that it’s difficult since she works a lot and is a mom, but she says they definitely “try.”

That’s when Corden reveals that they are about to pick up Blackstock to join them on their musical cruise around town. Clarkson seems delightfully surprised, and says of her husband, “He’s going to kill you!”

Corden directs Clarkson to the back seat, where he then slides in a small white tablecloth-covered table with a single rose in a vase. Blackstock appears, and Corden proceeds to pour glasses of champagne for the couple and then takes a swig from the bottle himself. Check out the whole adorable clip below:

Next up, it’s revealed that there is a violin player next to Corden in the passenger seat, who there to serenade the couple on their impromptu date night. Clarkson and Blackstock struggle to make normal conversation with the violin player and Corden there to hang on their every word. Clarkson laughs at the whole scene and says her husband is “so nervous.”

Clarkson and Blackstock first met at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006, and they wed in 2013. There four children in their blended family, including Clarkson’s 16-year-old stepdaughter, Savannah, 10-year-old stepson, Seth, 3-year-old daughter, River Rose, and 19-month-old son, Remington “Remy” Alexander.
