Kelly Ripa’s daughter looks so grown up in her prom photo

It’s always a shock to realize how fast your kids are growing up, and it’s no different when you’re a celebrity mama. Case in point: Television host and proud mama Kelly Ripa shared a photo of her daughter Lola before she headed off to prom, and we can’t believe how grown up she looks.

The 17-year-old Lola looks beautiful, poised and eager with excitement for her big night out. Taking after both her mom and dad (soap star Mark Consuelos), she is definitely genetically blessed, but she is so much more than just her stunning looks. The smart and driven high school student also interns at a film house in order to gain valuable experience and insight into the working world and show business.

But prom night? That’s all about fun! Here’s the photo Lola’s mom posted to Instagram:

As for the mother-daughter relationship, television producer Ripa admits that it is not always sunshine and roses. Back when Lola was newly a teenager, Ripa confessed, “‘I don’t think she likes me, but I don’t care. I’m like, ‘I’m not your friend, I’m your mom.'”

Parents of teenagers everywhere can probably relate!

Of course, Lola hasn’t always been so keen about being the daughter of a famous celebrity. She once told her mom that she was banned from posting pics of her on Instagram, to which Ripa joked, “Why did I have these kids if not to exploit them on social media?”

But Ripa and Consuelos must be doing something right, because their eldest son Michael (who is 21 years old) is flourishing at NYU, as well as running on the cross-country team.

As for their youngest, Joaquin (15 years old), he is a busy high school student with aspirations of his own. Here he is graduating from junior high while his big sister Lola smiles, despite the fact that his big day is overshadowing HER big day:
