KFC is rolling out Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles
If you’re a fan of chicken and waffles but have always felt the dish was missing an extra little kick, KFC’s newest menu item might just hit the spot.
Now in restaurants nationwide for a limited time, KFC’s newest creation pairs Belgian liege-style waffles with the food chain’s spicy, smoky Nashville Hot Chicken for Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles!
You can order the new dish as a platter with chicken and hot sauce, plus a waffle and a side of syrup for around $6.49, or as a Big Basket meal that includes chicken, two waffles and a drink for around $8.49.
If you’re looking for an even more unique take on the dish, you can also order it as a sandwich for around $7.99, which features a fried chicken filet topped with Nashville hot sauce and then sandwiched between two waffles and served with a side of syrup.
The Nashville Hot Chicken is breaded with a blend of spicy cayenne and smoked paprika. If you don’t want the waffles, you can simply get the Hot Chicken as tenders or a sandwich.
KFC first introduced Nashville Hot Chicken in January 2016 and KFC’s Chicken and Waffles came on the scene in November 2018. This is the first time the two dishes have been combined.
This is far from the first time KFC has done something interesting with its fried chicken, however, as the food chain has offered some interesting non-edible innovations like a fried chicken-scented candle and chicken-scented sunscreen.
Fried chicken has seen a rise in popularity lately with chicken purveyor Popeyes selling out of its fried chicken sandwich just two weeks after introducing it.
After initially asking fans to bring their own buns and make their own sandwiches with Popeyes’ chicken tenders, the sandwich eventually made a return to menus.
KFC does not say how long the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles will be around, but it is for a limited time, so you’ll want to hurry and order soon if it’s on your must-try list.
