Kim Kardashian’s surrogate is 3 months pregnant

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West certainly aren’t known for living their lives privately. Kardashian’s been open about her desire for a big family, but she had placenta accreta and pre-eclampsia in her previous pregnancies and was advised it would be too risky for her to carry another baby.

Placenta accreta is a condition where the placenta attaches too deeply to the uterine wall and can cause severe bleeding after delivery as a result.

Pre-eclampsia is characterized by high blood pressure and possible kidney or liver damage during pregnancy. It can affect both the mother and unborn child. Both conditions are considered serious health risks.

But now it seems Kardashian will have a third child after all. The surrogate she and her husband have chosen to carry their baby is reportedly three months pregnant. According to Us Weekly, a source confirmed to the publication that the couple chose a woman in her late 20s from San Diego, who was recommended by a surrogacy agency, to carry their child.

If the surrogate is indeed about 12 weeks along in her pregnancy, that means Kardashian-West baby No. 3 should arrive around January 2018.

Prior to this news about Kardashian’s surrogate being pregnant, the reality star has said on her TV show that she was open to the idea of not carrying her third child.

“I’ve come to the conclusion in my mind that I can’t carry another one. So now I want to explore surrogacy,” Kardashian West told her mother, Kris Jenner, on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

Kardashian has said that after she was robbed at gunpoint in a Paris hotel in 2016, family became even more important to her. As she told Ellen DeGeneres on her show after the robbery, the experience impacted her profoundly and gave her a different sense of the legacy she wanted to leave her kids.

It’s a sentiment Kardashian echoed on her own show as well.

“I’d just love nothing more than to expand my family and just know that I have this world at home that’s safe,” she said on “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” “And if for some reason I left this earth sooner than I really wanted to, then my kids would have a support system at home so that I know that they would be OK if I wasn’t here.”

Kardashian and West are the parents to 4-year-old North and 19-month-old Saint.

After undergoing surgery to repair damage to her uterus from the placenta accreta she had with both pregnancies, Kardashian was told that she can’t carry any more children. But that doesn’t mean the couple has to stop growing their family, and if the reports are accurate, a third is on the way.
