Did you know Santa Claus has his own podcast?

In the days leading up to Christmas, it can be hard to get kids to focus on anything but one person: Santa Claus. Why not lean into the all-out obsession with the big guy by keeping your kids occupied with Santa’s podcast?

This year’s podcast began on Dec. 1 and new episodes are posted daily leading up to Christmas. Santa’s podcast answers all of your kids’ burning questions about the North Pole, Santa and Christmas, such as how children can ensure they’ll be included on the nice list, how Santa delivers toys to homes without chimneys and why we hang stockings.

In addition to these fun facts about the holiday, episodes also include a positive message for children about being kind and giving back to others. The podcast is free through Stitcher (which shares a parent company with Simplemost), Spotify and iTunes.

Long before the holiday season began this year, Santa recorded a special podcast episode in which he explained the coronavirus to his young listeners. He offered some helpful tips on hand-washing and revealed how he and Mrs. Claus were spending their time at home.

Listening to a podcast together is a wonderful screen-free entertainment option for the car or elsewhere. As kids only need to listen, it frees them up to do other activities while they enjoy it, such as helping you out with the holiday baking, doing a fun Christmas craft or wrapping up their presents for mom and dad.

Each episode is under 15 minutes, so you can listen to a few at a time or plan to tune in before bedtime each night throughout the month.

What a great idea! It reminds me of a modern-day spin on the “Little Orphan Annie” radio show that Ralphie loves in “A Christmas Story.” Remember this clip?

Merry listening!
