Krispy Kreme has 2 new Butterfinger doughnuts
Nothing hits the spot better when you’re craving something sweet (or having a rough morning) than your favorite doughnut. For Krispy Kreme, however, a simple doughnut just won’t cut it — they’re taking it up a notch by adding another sweet treat to their doughnuts: Butterfinger candy!
For the first time ever, Krispy Kreme is collaborating with Butterfinger to create two brand new doughnuts: Butterfinger Original Filled Doughnut and Butterfinger Fudge Cake Doughnut. They’re available starting today at your local Krispy Kreme.
The fudge cake doughnut features a rich chocolate cake doughnut dipped in chocolate icing, topped with Peanut Butter Chocolate Kreme and Butterfinger pieces.
“We’ve done it. We’ve achieved our goal of putting krispety, crunchety, glazey, chocolatey and peanut buttery all in a doughnut,” Dave Skena, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme, said in a press release. “Fans of both brands are going to love the chocolatey crunchiness of Butterfinger® matched with the airy sweetness of Krispy Kreme.”
If the new Butterfinger doughnuts sound like something you can’t miss, you’ll want to hurry because they’ll only be around until Friday, March 13!
This is not the first time Krispy Kreme and a beloved candy brand has merged to create a delicious doughnut. Just last year, they introduced Kit Kat doughnuts (in the U.K.) and a Reese’s Lovers Original Filled Doughnut in two versions, original filled peanut butter and original filled chocolate.
The filled peanut butter doughnut had more peanut butter than chocolate, while the chocolate-filled had more chocolate than peanut butter. Either way, they were both the perfect combination of creamy peanut butter and sweet chocolate.
While the Reese’s doughnut is already gone and the Butterfinger doughnut will soon be as well, Krispy Kreme does have other filled doughnuts that are on their permanent menu.
Choose from Oreo Cookies and Kreme, New York cheesecake, cinnamon apple and more. Plus, new as of last year, you can even get creme-filled glazed doughnuts in both chocolate and vanilla.
