If news of the closure of the Necco candy factory bummed you out last summer, we have even more bad news. Necco Wafers weren’t the only candy made by the factory — the Valentine’s Day staple known as candy conversation hearts was also produced there.

Due to the closure, there is now expected to be a shortage of candy conversation hearts this Valentine’s Day. While there are competing brands, Sweethearts are the original and most recognized conversation heart and, of course, they carry a pretty heavy dose of nostalgia.

There is some good news, however. While you may not be able to get your hands on the conversation heart candy, Krispy Kreme is looking to help fill the shortage with its own version: conversation heart doughnuts!

Krispy Kreme

The Valentine’s Day doughnuts have more than a dozen new and traditional sayings, like “all the feels”, “call me” and “be mine.” The doughnuts themselves are just as sweet as their sayings, as they each feature one of four fillings: cake batter, raspberry, strawberries and “kreme” or chocolate “kreme.”

“Finding the right word can be like, I don’t know … hard,” Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s chief marketing officer, said in a press release. “But eating a doughnut is easy. So, we printed the right words on the doughnuts for you so you can’t mess this up.”

The doughnuts will be available for purchase Jan. 30 through Feb. 14, but you can get a free one with any purchase on Wednesday, Feb. 6. All you have to do is make sure you’re a rewards member and the free conversation heart doughnut is all yours.
