Lady Gaga is engaged to Christian Carino

Pop superstar Lady Gaga and talent agent Christian Carino are officially engaged. A source tells Us Weekly that the pair actually got engaged secretly over the summer, after Carino asked Gaga’s father for his permission to propose. Because the singer is currently struggling with fibromyalgia, a complex, painful condition for which there is currently no cure, there are no immediate wedding plans at this time.

The singer has previously opened up about living with the condition, sharing her struggles with fans in her Netflix documentary, “Five Foot Two.” In September, she announced that she had to cancel the European leg of her Joanne world tour on the heels of a hospitalization that also forced her to cancel her Rock in Rio performance. In an emotional Instagram post, she explained the reasons behind her difficult decision:

“I have always been honest about my physical and mental health struggles. Searching for years to get to the bottom of them. It is complicated and difficult to explain, and we are trying to figure it out…I use the word suffer not only because trauma and chronic pain have changed my life, but because they are keeping me from living a normal life. They are also keeping me from what I love the most in the world: performing for my fans.”

Back in February, Us Weekly confirmed that Lady Gaga and Carino were an item, after they were spotted kissing before her Super Bowl LI halftime show in Houston, Texas.

During a concert in September, Gaga gushed to fans about her blossoming relationship.

“When I went backstage, Christian was by the stairs making sure I was OK,” she said. “The best part about being in love with someone is having them there to catch you if you fall.”

Gaga was previously engaged to actor and model Taylor Kinney, with whom she was in a five-year relationship before splitting in July 2016.
