Lauren Conrad’s family just got a little bit bigger! She and her husband, William Tell, welcomed baby Liam James Tell on July 5, just as the 4th of July festivities were winding down.

In an exclusive interview with People magazine, Conrad opened up about being a new mom, her love for her tinier-than-she-had-imagined baby boy and even shared the first photos of her bundle of joy.

Conrad and her husband found out the sex of the baby before he was born.

“I don’t really love surprises,” Conrad told People. “I like to have all the information. And I was sharing my body with someone—so I wanted to know as much as possible about him.”

And from the moment she found out she was having a boy, she was ecstatic.

“I always hoped I would have a boy,” she said. “Boys are so fun. I was a tomboy, and I always play best with boys. When we found out, I was so excited.”

Her announcement of the baby’s sex to the rest of the world couldn’t have been sweeter. On June 2, she shared a photo on Instagram of a vintage card that read, “It’s a guy.”

She captioned the photo, “I found this adorable birth announcement while helping my Grandma move and I thought it was the perfect way to share that William and I are expecting a baby boy.” Aww!

And now that he’s finally here, Conrad seems to be in love with everything about little Liam, from his expressions to his size.

“I just remember thinking he was so cute—and I was surprised by how tiny he was,” she told People. He was born weighing 6 pounds and 14 ounces.

“He’s funny to watch—he makes really funny little expressions. I’m already stressing out because I want him to stay this tiny and I know he won’t. So I’m just trying to enjoy how itty-bitty he is,” she went on to say.

The family seems to be enjoying every second they have together, and we only hope that continues. Here’s wishing much happiness to the Tells!
