LEGO and super heroes isn’t a new combo. We’ve seen Batman and Spiderman LEGO figures grace toystore shelves for years. But, the latest superheroes to get a mini-brick makeover are the girls. Finally!
The new LEGO DC Super Hero Girls collection features 11 iconic characters, including Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Bumblebee, Flash, Eclipso, Lena Luther, Lashina and Mad Harriet, according to a press release.
And, if these pictures are any indication of what is to come, we couldn’t be more excited.
Girl LEGO sets versus boy LEGO sets has long been a point of contention. As the mother of girls, I’ve tried to steer my little ladies to select some bricks of the more gender-neutral variety, like say the City or Classic sets, but to no avail. They want the LEGO Friends in all their pink mini-skirt glory.
And, I’m not alone. Turns out, LEGO Friends was one of the most successful launches in recent LEGO history. These five friends are cute, but not exactly inspiring fierce females. I think these Super Hero Girls are poised to change all of that.
The collection features some pretty awesome ladies using even more awesome machines to save the day. Just check out this Batgirl Batjet.
But before you start making your Christmas lists, only three of the LEGO DC Super Hero Girls will be available this November. Batgirl Batjet ($24.99), Harley Quinn to the Rescue ($29.99) and the Super Hero High School ($79.99) building sets will be available on Nov. 27 in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Three additional building sets will launch in January, including Lashina Tank ($14.99), Bumblebee Helicopter ($14.99), and the Wonder Woman Dorm Room ($19.99). And, we’ll just have to wait and see for the rest.
