Lego has created the ultimate set for “Star Wars” fans looking for a galactic-sized project: the Devastator Imperial Star Destroyer. Part of the “Star Wars” Ultimate Collector Series Galactic Empire, it is the largest Lego building set in the Galactic Empire product line so far.

The Devastator Imperial Star Destroyer building set has 4,784 Lego pieces included to meticulously recreate the starship as it appeared in the opening scene of “Star Wars: A New Hope.” With a $699.99 price tag and massive piece count, this set isn’t for the casual collector or builder!

Builders looking to get their hands on the out-of-this-world Lego set can pick one up starting Oct. 1 by visiting an official Lego store or visiting the Lego shop online. If you’re a LEGO VIP member, you can secure your Devastator set as soon as Sept. 18.

Here’s what the Devastator Imperial Star Destroyer set will look like:

The level of detail in this kit is truly incredible. According to Lego.com, you’ll find 2 blaster pistol weapons and “swiveling guns, a tilting radar dish, huge engine exhausts and intricate surface detailing.” The set also comes with an attachable, buildable scale version of the Tantive IV starship (an additional vehicle).

The set also comes with a display stand with informational fact plaque, making it the ultimate display piece

The fully-built “Star Wars” Imperial Star Destroyer measures more than 17 inches high, 43 inches long and 26 inches wide on its display stand. (It is 14 inches high without the stand.) It would be the centerpiece of any Lego builder’s or “Star Wars” fan’s collection.

Other ‘Star Wars’ LEGO Sets

Alas, this kit isn’t even the biggest “Star Wars” set on the market! The Lego “Star Wars” Ultimate Collector’s Millenium Falcon zooms past the Star Destroyer with 5,196 pieces. It has been listed among one of the largest Lego sets ever made and one of the most complicated to build.

Lego discontinued making the Millenium Falcon kit, but a few can be found online through sites like Amazon.com. The one we found costs $2,452.99!

So, if you want to get your hands on one, you’ll probably want to grab one early before they fly off the shelves.

Happy building, “Star Wars” fans!
