Now, the chocolatiers at iconic Swiss chocolate company Lindt are putting their own epic twist on this combination. Called Lindt Hazelnut Cream, the new product is definitely going to give Nutella a run for its money.
Not only is Lindt Hazelnut Cream coming to us from a world leader in the chocolate confectionery market, but its ingredients could rival those of Nestle’s Nutella. One big difference between the two products is that Nutella is made with only 13 percent hazelnuts while Lindt Hazelnut Cream is made with 40 percent hazelnuts.
In fact, the main ingredients in Nutella are actually sugar and palm oil, which might explain why it tastes so good … but also shows there’s room in the market for a hazelnut spread that packs more of a hazelnut punch! In fact, Lindt Hazelnut Cream just sold out in grocery stores across the United Kingdom, so you know it must taste incredible!
And that brings us to the bad news. Lindt Hazelnut Cream is currently only available in Europe, and we poor Yanks are going to have wait an indeterminate amount of time before we see the product on our shelves.
However, you can buy a jar (or 10) on Amazon. At $16 a pop — plus shipping — this is an expensive way to enjoy hazelnut-chocolate deliciousness, but it could be worth the splurge if you’re a huge Nutella fan longing to try something new.
