Lisa Kudrow shared the sweetest backstage secret from ‘Friends’

It’s understandable that Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer grew incredibly close while filming the hit series “Friends.” The show ran for 10 years and is still binge-able on Netflix today.

Despite the fact that “Friends” came to an end in 2004, fans are still able to learn things they never knew about the show, especially since Kudrow and the gang love remembering their times on set together.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Kudrow shared a secret about how the actors used to begin every day of filming.

“The six of us would do a huddle backstage and just say, ‘All right, have a good show, love you love you love you love you,’” she told the magazine, proving that they were the best of friends on- and off-screen.

Avid “Friends” watchers likely remember when Kudrow’s character, Phoebe, was pregnant while acting as her brother’s surrogate in seasons 4 and 5. That pregnancy was written into the script due to Kudrow being pregnant in real life. And the actress admitted that their backstage huddle changed a bit while she was expecting her child:

“And when I was pregnant, then they would say, ‘Have a great show, love you love you — love you, little Julian!’ Cause we knew it was a boy and that was his name,” the actress told People. “So sweet, they included my little fetus in the huddle.”

Clearly, these pals were a huge support system for one another, making the “I’ll be there for you” lyrics to their theme song ring true. Cue the awws!

Kudrow gave birth to her son in May of 1998, and despite how much the rest of the world loved the TV series, at the age of 16, he wasn’t that interested in watching “Friends.”

His mom told Jimmy Kimmel in an interview, “He’s old enough [to watch],” she said. “And he’s old enough to know that he’s not that interested.”

She and Kimmel chalked it up to kids not being that interested in their parents on TV, but what can they say? Kids will be kids!

And now that her son Julian is all grown up, he’s completely independent and free to secretly watch “Friends” if he so chooses.

Like any mom, Kudrow’s doing her best to adapt to her son being out of the house, but she’s not worried about him being on his own.

“I think I did a good job injecting him with the right amount of fear,” Kudrow said in an interview with Kimmel. “He’s independent and good.”

Kudrow’s had the support of her “Friends” cast since the very beginning, and they’ll likely be there for her should she need them while her son’s off at college, too. So nice to see that the friendship lives on!
