This Little Girl Had A Poop-Themed Birthday Party

According to the old poem, little girls are “Sugar and spice and everything nice.” That may be true, but little girls are much more multi-faceted than just princesses, ponies and the color pink.

Need evidence? Look no further than to little Audrey of St. Louis, Missouri. When her parents asked Audrey what kind of birthday she wanted, they expected her to choose a typical theme (think Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol or similar). But not Audrey! No, she had just one birthday wish: She wanted a POOP-themed birthday party.

Yes, poop. Like most little kids (and ahem, even some big kids), Audrey finds poop to be a hilarious, fun topic of conversation. At first, her parents thought she was just joking. They assumed it was a random idea that Audrey would forget about… but not a chance! Every single time her parents asked her about her party, she insisted: It had to be poop.

To their great credit, her parents decided to play along. Not only did they have a poop-themed cake, they played “pin-the-poop,” and her mom even dressed up as… poop. Don’t worry, it was all much, much cuter than it sounds. In fact, it was downright adorable (props to the poop emoticon for that!).

And, amazingly, all the guests loved it, as does the internet! I wouldn’t be surprised if poop parties went viral.

Her mom had these wise words to share for parents everywhere:

“I feel like in this time of Facebook and Pinterest, we sometimes get caught up in trying to impress other adults,” she told the Huffington Post. “This party wasn’t for me, it was for Audrey. I love that we will look back at pictures, and it will represent her at 3—my funny and quirky little girl.”

Aww. How wonderful that her parents are so wise and down-to-earth, and that Audrey gets to have a mom and dad who accept her and celebrate her just as she is… even when it comes to such a well, odorous, birthday request.
