First of all, is “princess day” really still a thing? It’s nice for little girls to get to dress up and feel special, but there’s so much more to life than just being a princess. I once read this quote and fell in love with it. “Teach your daughters to worry less about fitting into glass slippers and more about shattering glass ceilings.” And I couldn’t agree more.
While all of the little ones did look beautiful in their puffy dresses, there’s one girl who stole the show. Did she come dressed in the biggest ball gown? Nope. She came dressed as none other than a hot dog. Yep. That’s right. A hot dog.
She certainly was the fairest of them all in this hot dog costume, and according to a tweet her dad posted to Twitter, 5-year-old Ainsley thought the idea up on her own. Way to go, girl!
No parent is ready to learn that their daughter is trending… #hotdogprincess Best part is it was all her idea! pic.twitter.com/YBmUkRoj4y

When it comes to breaking from tradition, this little girl definitely has the right idea. Hot dog costume and all, she was the best princess around, as far as I’m concerned. Because hot dogs really do rule the summer BBQ kingdom, and surely she’s got that on the brain. I have a feeling she and I would get along.
I can’t wait to see what other little girls will cook up next. Because when it comes to being a “princess” that can really mean whatever you want it to mean.
