The Internet Loves This ‘Love Actually’ Theory About Prince Harry And Meghan Markle
Some couples’ love seems like it was written in the stars. In the case of Prince Harry and his new fiancé, Meghan Markle, fans are speculating that their relationship was actually predicted in the 2003 romantic comedy classic “Love Actually.” A hilarious new internet meme compares the famous couple to two adorable young characters from the film, Sam and Joanna.
[Spoiler ahead!] In the movie, Thomas Sangster plays Sam, a young British boy who falls in puppy love with an American named Joanna, played by Olivia Olson, before she heads back to the United States. Sam’s dad encourages him to catch her at the airport before she disappears forever. Sam manages to make it there just in time to receive a sweet kiss on the cheek from the object of his affection before she boards the plane:
Not only do Prince Harry and Markle have the Brit-and-American-in-love thing down, but we have to admit — they kind of look like grown-up versions of the characters!

Here’s Joanna (and her amazing set of pipes) belting out “All I Want For Christmas” to jog your memory about just how cute these two were back then:
Sam and Joanna get a happy ending in the short “sequel” filmed for Red Nose Day released this summer, in which they meet again and get engaged. And, of course, life imitated art when Prince Harry and Markle announced their own engagement last week.
Fans on Twitter couldn’t get enough of this royals-meet-Hollywood theory, like this woman who called it a Christmas miracle:
OH MY GOD!! This just sent Christmas tingles up and down my body. <3 <3 <3

Olson, who played Joanna in the film, even took to Instagram to let fans know that she’s on board with the idea:
