‘Love Bug’ Oreo cookies are the perfect Valentine’s Day goodies

It could be argued that the Oreo is the perfect cookie. You have the crunchy chocolate cookie on the outside and that amazingly sweet and irresistible cream on the inside (which some people just can’t seem to get enough of these days).

Beyond its simplicity and yumminess, though, the Oreo is versatile. People love creating recipes and special treats using the classic cookie as the foundation for something even better. With Valentine’s Day coming up, creative cooks are sharing a new take on the Oreo-based treats with these adorable “Love Bug” Oreos.

For those who like to spice things up on Valentine’s Day, head over to Sarah’s Bake Studio. Her Love Bug Oreo Cookies feature the Hot & Spicy Cinnamon Oreo cookies for an extra kick. Beyond the spice factor, the adorable decorations make these Valentine’s Day cookies impossible to pass up. Those eyes!

For something a little sweeter, Lemon Tree Dwelling created these Love Bug Oreo Truffles which transform the classic Oreo into a candy-like confection. For this recipe, you will need to pull out the food processor to grind up those cookies and form the truffle balls.

The magic ingredient in this recipe is cream cheese, which turns these little love bugs into delightful mini bites of cheesecake. We think even Cupid would approve of these Valentine’s Day treats.
