YouTube

Onion rings are widely known as a great side dish for burgers, corn dogs and other entrées. But the folks at Tastemade have figured out a way to upgrade them, promoting them from lowly side dish to star of the entire meal.

How? Say it with me here: onion rings wrapped in bacon. That’s right, thanks to an instructional video posted by Tastemade, there’s a whole new way to enjoy this tasty side. Get ready to change everything you thought you knew about eating onion rings.

In order to bring this new form of onion ring to life, all you’ll need is bacon, onion slices and a small amount of teriyaki sauce. Once you’ve coated the onions with teriyaki, just wrap them up in bacon, add some more teriyaki sauce on top and throw them in the oven!

Note: This does not require a deep fryer, so not only did your life just get tastier, but it also got a whole lot easier.

And one more thing. Obviously, this dish is guaranteed to be delicious because, bacon. But on top of that, it’s also a low-carb option to breaded onion rings. So, if you thought you had to swear off this side along with French fries and your other favorites to maintain your low-carb diet — think again!

Now that you know this recipe, imagine all of the ways your life is sure to change for the better. You can have bacon-wrapped onion rings on burgers, on top of salads, paired with grilled pineapple and served with rice, with steak, on top of an egg scramble — I could go on and on!

There are a lot of ways these onion rings can be enjoyed, so you might as well get started eating them today. I’m not exactly sure where these have been all my life, but I certainly plan on making up for lost time.

Who’s with me?
