Lowe’s Hires Man And His Service Dog, Gives Them Matching Vests

Lowe's Canada

Here’s your feel-good story for the day.

Lowe’s, the home improvement store, shared news recently about two special new hires it had made in one of its Canadian stores: a man named Owen and his service dog, Blue.

As Lowe’s explained, Owen was having a hard time finding employment because of a brain injury that required the assistance of a support dog.  Due to the injury, Owen struggles understanding people if they speak too quickly. That’s where Blue comes in. His canine pal helps calm him down and prevents anxiety attacks.

The company saw the potential in Owen and his canine companion and have hired them to greet shoppers when they enter the store. Lowe’s shared the news on social media to the tune of 35,000 Facebook likes and counting.

Adorably, Blue was given a custom Lowe’s vest to match his owner’s.
