Lucky Charms Oatmeal Is Apparently A Thing—But There’s A Catch

It may not have been the healthiest meal in the world, but if there was one breakfast food that everyone loved as a kid, it was cereal. Many of us especially loved (ok, still love) Lucky Charms. I mean, you’re essentially eating rainbow marshmallows for breakfast, so who wouldn’t enjoy that?

As we got older, most of us probably switched from sugary rainbows and horse shoes to scrambled eggs or oatmeal, but lucky for us, there’s now a way we can eat an adult-like breakfast will still having fun: Lucky Charms Oatmeal.

The marshmallow-filled instant oatmeal was recently spotted on store shelves by blogger The Impulsive Buy—but we’ve got some bad news. It seems as if the breakfast food is currently only available in Canada. According to the blog, the hot cereal made by General Mills is filled with mini versions of your favorite marshmallows—too cute!

Along with Lucky Charms Instant Oatmeal, it looks like General Mills is offering a Cinnamon Toast Crunch version as well. We’re not sure if (or when) these magical packets will make their way to the U.S., but we’ll keep our fingers crossed that it’ll make their way south sometime soon. It’s probably best they’re not here quite yet, so we can continue to eat our healthy breakfast without planning a crazy sugar binge.

In the meantime, you’ll just have to enjoy your regular old oatmeal or your standard breakfast cereal (hey, it’s probably healthier anyway). Or, you can get creative and top off your bowl of of oats with some marshmallows of your own, since you can now buy some Lucky Charms marshmallow knock-offs on Amazon. They may not be nutritionist-approved—or the real deal—but you’ve got to work with what you’ve got, and we’re all allowed to have some fun in the morning once in awhile, right?
