Chip and Joanna Gaines are opening a restaurant — here’s a preview of the menu

Is there anything Chip and Joanna Gaines can’t do? The “Fixer Upper” stars are masters of the home makeover, of course, but they also have a magazine, a Target collection and are parents to four kids with a fifth on the way. Now the powerhouse couple can add “restaurant owners” to their resumes.

In a blog post from June 2017, Joanna revealed that it had always been a dream of Chip’s to own a breakfast joint and now he finally has his chance to do so. In 2016, the couple purchased the shuttered Elite Cafe, a Waco, Tex. restaurant which had operated for nearly 100 years before falling into disrepair.

The Gaines’ are changing the name to Magnolia Table and it will indeed be a breakfast joint. “I’ve always been a breakfast connoisseur. I always do a heavy, bigger breakfast, but Jo is the exact opposite. She was kind enough to come with me on this one, and we are going to do up a breakfast joint here in town,” Chip told Southern Living.

Now, Joanna has taken to Instagram to share an update on the new restaurant to reveal awnings on the building by the take away entrance/exit:

“Awnings going up at the Take Aware side at Magnolia Table today! Follow my stories as we do the final tasting and plating for the restaurant and get a sneak peek into what’s on the menu! #magnoliatable,” she wrote.

True to her word, Joanna posted some of the menu items in her Instagram Stories, including these divine-sounding biscuits and strawberry butter. “This strawberry butter is the answer to a lot of life’s problems,” she wrote. Judging by the photo, I’d have to agree!
