Malibu is now making sparkling cocktails in cans

It may be winter according to both the weather and the calendar, but the newest sparkling boozy beverage has us thinking of lazy days by the pool with a cool drink in our hand.

The new Malibu Splash from the makers of Malibu rum is the latest product to jump on board the sparkling beverage bandwagon. It combines the tropical flavor of their traditional coconut base with various fruity flavors and adds a hint of sparkling fizz.

Various liquor shop owners have already shared pics of the latest sparking malt beverage in a number of posts. Instagram user @melodyburdette, for one, shared a colorful photo of the recent arrivals to Seaside Liquor #1 in Orange Beach, Alabama.

“These are gonna be a huge hit so come and stock up,” Burdette wrote from her store. “Go ahead and pop the can and envision our phenomenal spring and summer days, soaking up the sun and sand at the beach! These babies are fixing to go sit in our ice-cold beer cave so you can enjoy immediately!”

The anticipation was also felt in Kansas, where the person behind the Culver’s Wine and Spirits account posted about the new product and how “hot” they expected it to be once it hit the shelves:

Malibu Splash comes in four flavors: passion fruit and coconut, lime and coconut, strawberry and coconut and pineapple and coconut. You can buy an individual flavor four-pack of the 12-ounce slim cans or opt to pick up the Hangout Mix Pack, which has two cans of each flavor. Each Malibu Splash sparkling beverage is 5% ABV (alcohol by volume), which is the standard alcohol content for hard seltzers and sparking malt beverages.

Check your favorite local shop to see if they have the newest bubbly drink on the block. It could be the new go-to in your beer fridge when you need something to pull you out of the winter blues!
