Malibu Has A New Sparkling Rum Drink That Sounds Perfect For The Pool

Just in time for summer, Malibu Rum is taking cocktails up a notch. While nothing is more classic than a Malibu Rum mixed with pineapple juice, the alcoholic beverage company has released a brand new flavor, and it sounds amazing.

Malibu Strawberry Spritz is made with run, strawberry and coconut flavor, and spritzer requires no mixer. Simply chill or add ice and you have a sweet, Caribbean cocktail on tap for every occasion — but sadly for us, it appears to be available only in the United Kingdom for now.

Fortunately, Malibu still has plenty of interesting options for those of us in the U.S. who are looking for the perfect poolside or beach beverage ahead of Memorial Day weekend.

The new strawberry flavor isn’t the only one Malibu offers in the rum spritz category. Their Malibu Fizzy Mango comes in a can for easy sipping, and it’s made with rum and coconut liqueur. Another summery option is Malibu’s Fizzy Pink Lemonade, which is ideal to toss in a cooler for outdoor parties.

Malibu Rum

Malibu offers several different flavors of their signature rum, including pineapple, mango, Tropical Banana and their newest offering, Malibu passion fruit.

Malibu

If all you have is the original Malibu rum on hand, don’t worry. It’s easy to mix up an impressive and tasty cocktail for you and your pals. Try your hand at Malibu’s version of the Paloma, a cocktail made with two parts rum, four parts club soda, one part grapefruit juice and 1/2 part lime juice. You can use salt on the rim, or you might even try dusting the rim with coconut sugar. Simply wet the rim of a highball or lowball glass with juice from the lime or pineapple, then twist it into coconut sugar (or a combo of coconut sugar and salt). Yum!

Garnish with a wedge of pineapple to make this drink extra Instagram-worthy.

Meanwhile, here’s hoping the strawberry spritz makes it to American shores before summer’s up.
