Many people dream of going to Disneyland for vacation. It’s where everyone feels like a kid again. But, the average visitor goes for a few days or a week. Jeff Reitz is NOT the average Disneyland fan. He has visited the park every day for the past 2,000 days. Yes, you read that correctly!

When Reitz entered the Disneyland gates on June 22, he hit the major 2,000-day milestone.

“It’s become a living breathing thing along the way,” he told the Orange County Register on the big day.

His daily trips to Disneyland started back on Jan. 1, 2012 after receiving an annual pass as a gift. Friends gave him the pass to keep his spirits up while he looked for a new job. So, he thought it would be fun to see if he could visit every day that year. Even after finding a job later in 2012, Reitz kept the streak going by visiting in the evenings.

After visiting 366 consecutive days (2012 was a leap year), Disneyland recognized Reitz’s achievement by making him an honorary citizen. At the time, he told reporters he would probably “slow down a little.”

Well, he didn’t slow down. In fact, he renewed his pass and kept going. After more than five years, the streak continues.

He documents his daily trips from his official Twitter account: @Disney366.

And, of course, he loves sharing pictures on Instagram, too! He posted this one the day before his big day.

And of course he had to mark his historic entry into the park on Thursday with another post.

Getting to Disneyland for 2,000 days in a row hasn’t always been an easy task. In fact, one day he only made it with about 20 minutes to spare!

Disneyland spokesman John McClintock said he believes Reitz has an “unbreakable record.” But, Rietz insists he didn’t start this quest for the record books.

“I didn’t start all this for anyone or to receive anything,” he told Disney Examiner. “I want to be the regular guest who just happens to come here more often, and I’m fine with that.”
