Mandy Moore and Shane West Had An Adorable ‘Walk To Remember’ Reunion

Reunited and it feels so good! Mandy Moore celebrated getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on March 25, and her “A Walk To Remember” co-star Shane West was right there by her side.

Moore got her first big break as an actress playing Jamie Sullivan in the 2002 film. So, it seems appropriate that her co-star would be around 17 years later as she is being awarded for her acting skills.

Besides, as she pointed out on Instagram, “Stars have always sort of been our thing.” Of course, she is referring to the time her character and West’s spent stargazing in the film:

Just to jog your memory — not that any of us could forget the tear-jerker of a film — “A Walk To Remember” centers around two high schoolers who fall in love despite the fact that they’re complete opposites. The story is based on a Nicholas Sparks novel.

And, in typical Sparks fashion, something heart-wrenching is in store for the two young lovers. Moore’s character develops leukemia and won’t be able to stay with her high school love forever. Knowing this, the two decide to make the most of the time they have together. They get married before Moore’s character passes away.

And if that quick reminder wasn’t enough to have you reaching for the tissues, the kind words West spoke about Moore all these years later certainly will.

“Not only was this film a wonderful experience in every way, it also gave me the chance to fall for this fantastic woman,” he said in his speech honoring her at the dedication. “Mandy, you’re an absolute gem. Your smile is ridiculous … it lights up a room when you walk in. Your energy is irresistible, and your heart is second to none. I always knew you were incredibly talented, always knew you were going to go on to do big things and amazing things, and you have.”

Aww! See a clip of the sweet moment from the MaximoTV YouTube Channel:

Of course, the “This Is Us” cast was also there to celebrate with alongside Moore. And the show’s creator, Dan Fogelman, told Today before the ceremony that Moore more than deserves this accolade at age 34, though she still has so much talent to share.

“I think this next chapter for Mandy personally and professionally is so exciting,” Fogelman said. “It’s ironic that she’s getting this star right now, because she’s only scratched the surface of what she can do as an actress.”

And Moore is grateful for both where she’s been and where she has yet to go.

“At this chapter in my life, things are starting to feel like they’re coalescing,” she said in her speech at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. ” They’re coming full circle, yet with so many blank pages ahead to fill, and that’s what excites me the most about this juncture.”

“If I’ve learned anything, it’s that you must be grateful for where you’ve been in order to keep moving forward,” she continued. “I have such an appreciation and fondness and respect for my young self. Because she is what brought me here to this moment today, 20 years later, with her own star on the Walk of Fame. I did not know it was possible to dream dreams this big.”

Congratulations, Mandy Moore! We can’t wait to see what else is in store for you!
