This map shows the most popular food in every state

Everyone knows Americans love food, but the statistics on just how much we consume are a bit, if you will, hard to swallow. The average American eats—deep breath—just under 2,000 pounds of food every year. That is literally nearly one ton of food. Each year. Each person. (P.S. Full grown bears weigh around 1,000 pounds.)

While just how much we’re eating might come as a surprise, it’s no shock that recipes are abundant on the internet.

In fact, food is the number one category on Pinterest, with more than 15 billion ideas out there for your pinning pleasure. But what foods are our absolute favorites? That, just like many things in America, varies by state.

Pinterest filtered through the recipes and created an infographic to show the foods people in each state pinning the most.

The No. 1 search food Nevada is cake pops. Meanwhile, folks in Delaware are saving crab recipes, and Michigan can’t get enough no-bake cookies.

Well, Londoners love French toast, people in Barcelona can’t get enough cheese danishes and Bordeaux and, funnily enough, the French eat a lot of Rice Krispie Treats. Here’s the complete the complete international list and recipes.

Now excuse us while we go look up some martini recipes. Those peanut butter brownies might be calling our names, too!
