These Marbleized Unicorn Oreos Are Absolutely Gorgeous

A Side Of Sweet

The only thing better than eating an Oreo cookie is eating an Oreo cookie that’s decked out in a fun unicorn fashion. These marbleized unicorn Oreos from A Side Of Sweet will change the way you enjoy Oreo cookies for the better, just when you thought that wasn’t possible.

By using white chocolate candy melts, a candy mold and food coloring, you can completely cover an Oreo cookie in a chocolate casing that’s going to look just as delicious as it tastes.

Simply melt the white chocolate and use a toothpick to swirl in different colors. Let your imagination run wild — the more unicorn-inspired your design, the better. However, Kelly does note that you should use the colors sparingly, because a little bit goes a long way.

But the quick version is: Fill a candy mold with your colorful chocolate before inserting an Oreo in the mold as well. Then, you’ll top each cookie another layer of chocolate and smooth it over, removing any excess chocolate from outside of the mold.

Place in the freezer until the chocolate is hardened and remove to reveal the prettiest chocolate-covered Oreos you’ve ever seen!

This video from A Side Of Sweet on YouTube will show you exactly how this process is done:

You can also take a shortcut by simply dunking the edge of an Oreo cookie into the colorful chocolate instead of using a mold to completely cover the cookie. But, if you’re going to have some fun with Oreos, you might as well go all in, right?

She also tops her chocolate-covered Oreos off with edible gold paint and foil for an extra festive touch, but you could top yours with sugar crystals, sprinkles or whatever you deem unicorn-appropriate. Be sure to complete this step before the chocolate hardens if you’re using sprinkles or something that could easily fall off of the cookie if it’s not hardened into place.

Of course, Oreos will be delicious in this recipe, but you can really use any kind of cookie: sugar cookie, chocolate chip cookies and more. Just make sure they’re the right size your candy mold. If not, just dip them!

And if you like the idea of making your favorite desserts a little extra special by adding a unicorn touch, you’re in luck. There are plenty of unicorn-inspired treats where this came from.

You can also use white chocolate, food coloring and lots of sprinkles to transform regular fudge into a magical sweet that adults and kids alike will love to eat. This recipe from Sprinkles For Breakfast shows just how simple it is to make white chocolate fudge even more fabulous:

With tricks like these up your sleeves, your dessert-eating days are sure to be all the more magical.
