Why You May Want To Reconsider Buying An Innerspring Mattress

Mattress shopping is no easy feat, but picking the right one can have a huge effect on how well you sleep. Next time you go shopping for a new mattress, you might want to steer clear of one type of mattress.

A recent Consumer Reports survey of 62,000 people found only 65 percent of owners of a traditional innerspring mattress were satisfied with their purchase.

If you think 65 percent doesn’t sound so bad, think again. Eighty percent of subscribers with an adjustable-air bed were satisfied with their purchase, followed by 75 percent for foam and 70 percent for a hybrid innerspring mattress, according to the survey.

Despite these other types of mattresses ranking as more comfortable, 35 percent of the people surveyed still own a traditional innerspring mattress. If you’re one of these people, you may want to consider a switch the next time it’s time to replace your mattress. While the other options out there aren’t perfect, they may provide just the upgrade you need.
