McDonald’s is adding 3 new breakfast items to the menu

If McDonald’s is one of your favorite places to stop for a coffee or quick breakfast in the morning, get ready to try some new additions to their McCafé menu the next time you stop by.

Along with the beloved Egg McMuffin, pancakes, hash browns and other favorites, you will now see three new bakery items on the breakfast menu: apple fritters, blueberry muffins and cinnamon rolls.

The new items will be served alongside other McCafé items beginning Oct. 28. But don’t worry — they’ll be served all day, so you can fulfill your pastry craving even after dinner (or again after dinner if you had one for breakfast, too — we won’t tell!).

The apple fritter is a classic fritter made with cinnamon and apples, then fried and drizzled with a sweet glaze icing. The muffin is baked with blueberries and then topped with a streusel crumb topping.

The cinnamon roll is loaded with cinnamon layered between buttery, flaky pastry dough that is drizzled with cream cheese icing. Served warm, you can bet this one also smells absolutely delicious.

And, of course, any of these bakery options would be great with a coffee.

While these are the first addition of bakery items to McDonald’s core menu in more than eight years, the fast-food chain has had added limited-time-only menu items over the years, including cinnamon donut sticks, which they released twice last year — once in February and again in October.

While the donut sticks are no longer available, there are other McCafé bakery items on the menu that are staying year-round, including chocolate chip cookies and apple pie. There is also a full dessert menu that includes ice cream cones, milkshakes, McFlurries and hot fudge sundaes.
