“Seeing this today brought tears to my eyes! Compassion has NOT gone out of style…At that point, the tears started to gather in my eyes. My heart was so appreciative for what he did. I couldn’t contain my emotions in the crowded restaurant.”
According to Destiny’s observations, the elderly gentleman, wheeled his wheelchair to the counter and asked for help. Even though it was rush hour, the cashier, Kenny, closed his register, washed his hands, put on some gloves, and excused himself from his typical duties to help cut up his meal.
According to a video from NBC Chicago, the man Kenny helped is named Dan Garringer. He has cerebral palsy, which affects his mobility and speech. He often stops at this Union Station McDonald’s because it’s on his daily commute. When asked how he is treated there, his response was, “Wonderful.”
For going above and beyond, Kenny along with all employees at the Union Station McDonald’s will be recognized by the restaurant’s owner in an award ceremony.
