For some people, the holidays mean enjoying yummy hot cocoa and gingerbread. But for a diehard group of dessert fans, only one thing gets their sugar rush going: McDonald’s Holiday Pie.
Now the wait is over for these handheld-holiday-pie-lovers, according to the fast-food chain’s Twitter feed.
While no big announcement has been made, one lucky customer shared on Twitter that she found her beloved pie at a local franchise — and McDonald’s replied with confirmation of the dessert’s widely anticipated return.
Y’know how they say the holidays get earlier every year? Well, ’tis the season…for the Holiday Pie! Enjoy! 😉

What makes the holiday pie so popular? Maybe it’s the “vanilla custard nestled in a flaky, buttery crust glazed with sugar and topped with rainbow sprinkles,” according to the official McDonald’s website description. Yeah, that does sound pretty tasty. And sprinkles make it extra festive!
However, some people have been disappointed when they didn’t find the holiday pies on their local McDonald’s menu, like Twitter user @BooNewsome who tweeted plaintively about their need for the sweet treats:
Hi! While we haven't released an official date for the Holiday Pies, their availability will be decided by the location's owner/operator. We recommend letting your local restaurant know that you'd love to see them back on the menu!

Apparently, if you’re having a hankering for one of the creamy holiday pies but can’t track one down, you need to connect with your local restaurant to bring back the holiday happiness.
The pies are also only available for a limited time. So, if you happen to find them, you might want to stock up while you can.
McDonald’s has a few other holiday offerings, as well. You can pick up a McCafe Peppermint Mocha, hot or iced. The blend of milk, espresso, chocolate peppermint syrup, chocolate drizzle and whipped cream brings a cozy — yet refreshing — treat to the table.
And, of course, there’s always hot chocolate if you’re looking for a classic holiday drink. Warm milk mixed with chocolate always hits the spot after a long day of holiday shopping.
