McDonald’s is testing a French toast breakfast sandwich

You’re likely already familiar with (and a fan of) McDonald’s McGriddle sandwich, which features a breakfast meat, cheese and an egg sandwiched between two delicious, syrup-filled pancakes. Well, they’ve re-invented that concept, and have created the French Toast Breakfast Sandwich. This may be the best news to come from McDonald’s since the announcement of all-day breakfast!

Unfortunately, they’re only in the testing phase with this delicious breakfast item. But if all goes well, you could soon see the French Toast Breakfast Sandwich in McDonald’s locations across America! For now, they’re only available in a select 200 locations in Minnesota.

According to a press release, the sandwich makes use of brioche bread to create two thick pieces of French toast. And wedged in between each piece is an egg, American cheese, sausage and bacon. All of this is then brushed with a layer of syrup. Just reading the description of this sandwich is enough to make your mouth water!

McDonald’s chef Mike Lingo described the sandwich in this way:

“You get savory and smoky flavors from the sausage and bacon,” he said in a press release. “Creaminess, cheddar flavors and salt from the American cheese; sweet cinnamon, spice and vanilla flavors from the French toast. It tastes like homemade French toast. It’s everything you love about breakfast in one sandwich.”

Considering these sandwiches are only available in Minnesota for the time being, there aren’t too many reviews online, but Twitter user @MyNameIsPaulB was lucky enough to give this new product a try:

“The sandwich is very delicious! It has sausage, bacon, egg and cheese on it. Definitely would buy again,” he wrote on Twitter.

This positive review could be a good sign for the French Toast Breakfast Sandwich.
