Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Shared An Umbrella In The Rain And People Are Swooning
After announcing that a royal baby is on the way, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle touched down in Australia to kick off a tour that will include visits to Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand. The second stop on their travels included a trip to Dubbo, where they visited a farm.
When they were met with pouring rain, Prince Harry still delivered his speech as scheduled — and thankfully, it all turned out just fine, because he had his wife by his side.
Instead of letting her husband get soaked while giving his speech or taking an umbrella away from someone else, Markle decided to share her umbrella with her husband.
An Instagram post from Kensington Palace shows highlights of the couple’s visit, including the happy newlyweds sharing Markle’s umbrella:

They’re all smiles, despite the weather! In fact, the rain was welcome in Dubbo, which has been plagued by drought for two years.
The NBC News World Twitter account shared a video of Prince Harry approaching the podium without an umbrella. Though others noticed he was getting wet and tried to shield him from the rain, it was Markle who ultimately came to the prince’s rescue at the podium as he gave his speech:

This, of course, caused anyone who saw the photos on social media to swoon.
Twitter user @MikeSington wrote that this incident was “going to be the cutest thing you’ll see all day”:

And Twitter user @Erikk_the_Dane2 pointed out what a “great team” these two make:
I loved seeing the Duchess of Sussex thoughtfully hold the umbrella and give support to the Duke of Sussex as he gave the speech in Dubbo. I'm so glad that Prince Harry found Duchess Meghan. The Sussexes are a great team that bring out the best in each other. #RoyalVisitAustralia

Markle looked at her husband lovingly as he talked about the importance of the rain, as well as mental health issues in the region.
“You have just lived through two years of drought, and despite the recent welcome rain it is going to take a lot more and a long time to recover,” Prince Harry said to the crowd. “It must be hard not to lose hope when you endure so many dry months end on end knowing that you are powerless to do anything about it. We know that suicide rates in rural and remote areas are greater than in urban populations and this may especially be true among young men in remote regions.”
Mental health is a topic that’s close to Prince Harry’s heart. He’s been open about his own struggles to deal with the grief and anger that came along with losing his mother at such a young age. He notes that asking for help was a great help to him and encouraged the people of Dubbo to do the same:
“You need to know, a part of being strong and tough is having the courage to ask for help when you need it. You must not silently suffer,” he said. “You are all in this together and, if I may say, personally, we are all in this together. Because asking for help was one of the best decisions that I ever made. You will be continually amazed at how life changes for the better.”
In this moment, it’s easy to see how life has changed for the better for this loving couple!
