When a celebrity gets a wax figure made in their likeness at Madame Tussauds London, it’s a sign that they have truly arrived. With her nuptials to Prince Harry just over a week away, Meghan Markle has finally gotten the royal treatment, so to speak, as a wax figure in her likeness was unveiled at the iconic museum on May 9.
A wax replica of Prince Harry has been there since 2014, and now a statue of his bride-to-be stands beside him. Markle’s figure is wearing the now-famous P.A.R.O.S.H. dress the actress wore during the couple’s engagement interview on BBC. You can also see a replica of her beautiful diamond engagement ring.
Check out the eerily accurate statues:
Looks like they nailed it!
Markle’s statue will make its official public debut on her wedding day — May 19 — but fans can get a glimpse the day before when Madame Tussauds London hosts “A Royal Stag and Hen Do” —that’s British for “bachelor and bachelorette party”! Visitors will be able to enjoy a glass of prosecco, listen to a DJ and take photos alongside their new royal BFFs in front of several backdrops.
Is a trip to London not in your future? You’re in luck: Another Markle wax figure debuted at Madame Tussauds New York on May 9 as well.
Kate Middleton also has her own statues at Madame Tussauds museums, although hers did not come out until 2012, a year after she married Prince William.
Middleton’s wax figure in London donned her own super-popular, royal blue engagement dress from Issa:
Wow! The resemblance is uncanny. Of course, other members of the British royal family also have their own figures in the museums, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
Markle’s wax statues may be the last glimpse the public has of the soon-to-be-royal until her wedding day, as she and Prince Harry have no more official engagements scheduled until their nuptials. We can’t wait until she resurfaces in her wedding gown!
