Michael Landon’s daughter is an actor like her dad

Michael Landon is a beloved Hollywood icon thanks to the decades he spent starring in television series like “Bonanza,” “Little House on the Prairie” and “Highway to Heaven.” The actor sadly died in 1991 of pancreatic cancer at the age of 54, but in the years since, many of his children (he had nine in total) have followed in the TV legend’s footsteps and become actors themselves.

Now, fans of Michael Landon have a chance to see his youngest daughter, Jennifer, display more of her acting talents. Jen Landon has appeared in the soap operas like “Days of Our Lives,” “The Young and the Restless” and “As the World Turns” (for which she won three Daytime Emmys), and now she is appearing on Paramount Network’s “Yellowstone.”

The Kevin Costner-led drama follows Montana ranchers as they try to protect their livelihood and their land, and Landon joined the cast for season three, playing the beloved character of Teeter.

Landon has been acting since she was 5 years old, when she played a little girl on her dad’s television show “Highway to Heaven.” Although it has been many years since her father passed, Landon still misses him, and says she will watch reruns of his shows if she wants to feel close to him.

“[I]f ‘Little House on the Prairie’ is on and I’m somewhere and I catch it, I’ll watch it for a bit,” Landon told Smashing Interviews. “It makes me feel very good.”

Landon is loving her new role as Teeter on “Yellowstone,” and she’s quickly becoming a fan favorite on the family melodrama.

Decider tweeted out a photo of Landon in character, along with a quote from the actress about her role on the series:

Co-star Ian Bohen posted this behind-the-scenes pic of Jen Landon on his Twitter page. Do you see a resemblance to her famous father?

Many of Michael Landon’s other children have also found their ways to the television industry. Michael Landon Jr. is an actor and producer who has worked on popular Hallmark programs like “When Calls the Heart” and “Love Comes Softly.” Landon’s oldest son, Mark, also appeared in television movies, but sadly passed away at the age of 60 in 2009.

You can watch Jen Landon in “Yellowstone” on the NBC streaming service Peacock or catch it on Sunday nights on the Paramount Network.
