Michelle Branch is pregnant again after miscarriage

Michelle Branch has just revealed that she is expecting a baby! The singer shared the exciting news on Instagram, along with images of delicious homemade scones that she’d prepared to satisfy her pregnancy cravings.

“Woke up to a picture my friend Sonya sent of scones she was eating in England and I immediately had to hop out of bed and make a batch myself,” Branch wrote in the Instagram caption. “Couldn’t be more excited (and nervous! Hello, pregnancy after miscarriage anyone?!) to announce baby Carney is coming early 2022!”

In December 2020, Branch shared the tragic news that she had suffered a miscarriage in a heart-wrenching Instagram caption. In a post referencing the frightening Christmas morning bombing in Nashville, Branch also discussed her own personal tragedy.

“A bomb went off in downtown Nashville yesterday. And to further twist a dagger in my heart, I experienced my first miscarriage,” she wrote on Instagram. “But alas, between the crying and binge eating of Christmas cookies, I decided to put on lipstick and a dress. We drank champagne alllll day. Made an incredible meal and sang Christmas songs snuggled up by a roaring fire. 5 more days until 2021. I’m limping to the finish line.”

Now, several months later, Branch is happily able to say she is pregnant once again and expecting a rainbow baby next year.

Branch and husband Patrick Carney (who is the drummer for The Black Keys) were wed in 2019. They have a son together (2-year-old Rhys), and Branch also has a 16-year-old daughter (Owen Isabelle) from her former marriage to Teddy Landau. Landau and Branch divorced in 2015 after 11 years of marriage.

She met Carney at a Grammy Awards party that same year, and while working together on Branch’s album “Hopeless Romantic,” the two musicians found themselves falling in love.

In an interview with People magazine, Branch spoke of how supportive Carney has been of her music career and how much he believed in her artistic vision throughout the making of her 2018 album.

“I’d never had someone who was that supportive,” Branch recalled. “He’s an amazing, amazing human.”

And now, they’ve made another amazing human together. Congrats to the happy parents!
