What you might covet from the new Tiffany home collection

Tiffany & Co.

Tiffany & Co. is known for their trademark jewelry, but their home collection is equally enviable. And now everyone’s favorite upscale jewelry store has released their latest collection of home accessories. Let’s just say the pieces (and the prices!) are out-of-this-world.

For instance, there’s this sterling silver ball of yarn. It’s a limited-edition piece that was handcrafted by Tiffany artisans. According to the website, “A ball of yarn is reimagined in handspun strands of textured sterling silver, rendering the ordinary extraordinary.”

Oh, and here’s the really extraordinary part…it’s $9,000. Yes. A $9,000 ball of sterling silver yarn. No home is complete without it!

And you can’t forget to pick up one of these sterling silver bird nests, complete with Tiffany blue porcelain eggs.

Although, with a price tag of $10,000, these eggs better contain baby dragons or something equally spectacular.

But those purchases are mere chump change compared to these $70,000 sterling silver candlesticks. I really have to wonder, though: When you spend that much on candlesticks, do you dare to actually burn a candle in it?

Not all of the new 2017 home pieces are priced so extravagantly, however. For example, I think this beautiful sterling silver and walnut mezuzah is simply gorgeous, and at $225, I think it’s priced right for a once-in-a-lifetime wedding gift for a beloved friend or family member.

But overall, the home items in this new collection are frankly a bit…much. Do you know anyone who would spend $350 on a “Rose Gold Vermeil Crazy Straw“? And if you do, can you introduce me, because I REALLY want to go to one of their parties and drink out of a crazy straw that costs more than my entire flatware set.

Yet the reality is that these pieces definitely have an audience. In fact, many of these items are currently unavailable due to their popularity, including this $500 sterling silver pill box:

And here I’ve been carting around my pills in a plastic bag like some kind of PEASANT!

If you know someone who is a true Tiffany addict and is positively drooling over these ridiculous-yet-gorgeous items, maybe you could afford to get them a coffee cup from the new collection. At $55, this porcelain mug is painted in the signature Tiffany blue and it is imprinted with a metallic layer of Manhattan.

And, of course, Tiffany & Co. itself is on the map, so if you ever get lost and are in need of a $300 yo-yo, you will know exactly where to go.
