Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s Now Have Froot Loops Doughnuts

You’ve undoubtedly heard about breakfast cereals that are flavored to taste like other foods, such as like Dippin’ Dots and Oreos.

But how about making other foods taste like cereal? You’re in luck: The fast-food chains Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s are offering up a special treat: mini Froot Loops doughnuts!

The mini doughnuts are available at Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s locations nationwide for only $1.99.

In the box, you’ll find five frosted doughnuts that represent the iconic colors of Froot Loops cereal: red, blue, green, purple and yellow.

OK, so they may look just like giant Froot Loops, but do they actually taste like the beloved Kellogg’s cereal?

I am happy to report that they most definitely do! While it’s been quite some time since I’ve eaten Froot Loops, it’s hard to forget their unique, sugary flavor and these doughnuts sure do have it. Dipped in milk, they were pretty much amazing.

While it is no longer on the menu, Burger King also got into the Froot Loops game with a Froot Loops milkshake last year and currently, you can find a vanilla shake topped with Froot Loops at Steak ‘n Shake.

If you want to try the mini Froot Loops doughnuts, however, you’ll have to hurry to a Carl’s Jr. or a Hardee’s soon.

The limited edition treats are only available until October.

Visiting The Donut Trail

If you are really into donuts (like really really), you should consider booking a trip to Ohio, where you’ll find the Butler County Donut Trail.

The trail is near Cincinnati in Butler County, which has one of the highest rates of donut shops per capita in the United States.

There are 12 total shops along the trail, which covers roughly 80 miles.

If you decide to go, you should be forewarned that some places along the trail tend to sell out of donuts, so you might want to get yourself out of bed early to start sampling.
