Minute Maid now comes in blue raspberry

I have a serious question I need addressed: Why is blue raspberry always the best flavor of everything?

Seriously. Whether it’s an Icee, some Air Heads or a handful of Jolly Ranchers, if there’s a blue raspberry option, it’s the one I always go for.

The people at Coca-Cola, which owns Minute Maid, apparently agree with that assessment, because they are now giving us a drink that’s sure to stain our teeth and tongues all spring long. Behold, blue raspberry-flavored Minute Maid!

This new drink was first announced by Coca-Cola in October 2019 and was expected to hit stores in early 2020, according to that announcement, and it appears that was true. We looked on Instagram and found a few people that had already posted pictures of the new blue drink, including @truevidencelife, who wrote, “Ok Minute Maid, I hear y’all loud and clear!”

Blue raspberry has joined other adventurous flavors in the Minute Maid lineup, including kiwi strawberry and orangeade. According to Beverage Daily, Coca-Cola decided to make the newest flavor after research indicated that blue raspberry flavors had been growing each year in the beverage industry. That’s good news if you ask me!

The soda giant also introduced a new flavor to one of its other popular brands, Fanta, this year. The new piña colada-flavored Fanta hit stores in February. It’s available now in 20-ounce bottles.

As Coca-Cola realized in its research, blue raspberry flavoring is currently having a moment. Earlier this year, Taco Bell announced that it would roll out a new blue raspberry slushie. They also introduced an “electric” version of the drink, which came with a jolt of sour flavoring.

Both of those treats are available in Taco Bell restaurants right now at $2.49 for a 16-ounce version and $2.69 for a 20-ounce version.

This might be a good time to invest in some whitening toothpaste!
